// OUR STORY

How Tulloch Came to Be

Tulloch was established by a group of experienced business professionals who had spent years working within the large consulting firms — and who had grown frustrated with the gap between what clients needed and what those firms typically delivered.

The recurring pattern was the same: engagements that ran long, reports that sat unread, and recommendations that were technically sound but practically difficult to act on. The clients who benefited most from consulting support were those who received focused, embedded work with clear accountability for outcomes — not the ones who received lengthy deliverables and then had to figure out implementation on their own.

We set up Tulloch to do the first kind of work. Our engagements are short, scoped, and structured around what your team can realistically implement. We work alongside your people rather than around them. And we remain accountable for progress throughout the engagement — not just at the point of handover.

Our Central office reflects the nature of the clients we work with: organisations navigating the specific pressures of operating in and from Hong Kong — regulatory complexity, cross-border considerations, talent retention, margin compression. We understand this context and build it into how we work.

What Guides Our Work

Specificity

We do not offer generic advisory services. Each engagement is scoped to a specific challenge with agreed deliverables and a defined end date.

Transparency

We say clearly what an engagement will and will not achieve, what it costs, and how progress will be measured. Nothing is left deliberately vague.

Practicality

Outputs are designed to be used by your team, not filed away. If something cannot be implemented with your current resources, we will say so upfront.

Accountability

Progress checkpoints throughout each engagement mean we share responsibility for outcomes — not just for recommendations on paper.

How We Maintain Quality

Written Scope Agreement

Every engagement is documented in a signed scope letter before work begins. Deliverables, timeline, fees, and access requirements are specified in writing.

Weekly Progress Reviews

Structured checkpoints throughout each engagement track progress against targets. Any adjustments to approach are agreed jointly with the client before being made.

Full Confidentiality

Mutual NDAs are standard. Client information is handled under strict protocols and is not discussed or referenced outside the engagement team without written consent.

Senior-Led Delivery

The consultant named in your scope agreement leads the engagement from start to finish. Work is not passed to junior staff or subcontracted without prior discussion.

Documented Handover

All engagements conclude with a structured handover document and a final session with the client team. Implementation materials are designed for continued use after the engagement ends.

HK Legal Compliance

All engagements are conducted in compliance with applicable Hong Kong law, including the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and relevant ordinances governing professional conduct.

// EXPERTISE

Consulting Knowledge Built in Hong Kong

Tulloch consultants have worked across the full range of commercial sectors active in Hong Kong — banking and financial services, trading and logistics, professional services, retail, and property-adjacent businesses. This breadth of exposure means that when a client describes their situation, we are drawing on direct experience rather than adapting frameworks built for other contexts.

Our knowledge management practice has particular depth in organisations where expertise is concentrated in a small number of senior staff — a common structural feature in Hong Kong's mid-market. The risk this creates is well understood; the methods for addressing it are less consistently applied. Our framework engagement is designed to close that gap in a practical, durable way.

// APPROACH

Consulting That Respects Your Time

Most consulting failures have the same root cause: the engagement asks more of the client than the client can realistically give while also running the business. Interviews run long, data requests multiply, and by the time recommendations arrive, the original problem has either evolved or been addressed through other means.

Our engagements are designed around what is manageable alongside normal operations. We request what we need, work with what is available, and keep the demand on your team's time proportionate to the value being delivered. This is not a compromise on quality — it is a prerequisite for outcomes that actually take hold.
